Mei Hua Flowers by MaRoC68 Mei Hua Flowers by MaRoC68
Mei Hua - or Chinese plum is a species of Asian plum in the family Rosaceae. This red flower, long a beloved subject in the traditional painting of East Asia and Vietnam, is usually translated as plum blossom. One of the most beloved flowers in China, the plum blossoms have been frequently depicted in Chinese art and poetry for centuries. The Chinese sees its blossoms as both as a symbol of winter as well as a harbinger of spring.

Incredibly beautiful, nicely framed, and epic in scope, Mei Hua is as infused with hope as plum blossoms. I love the symbolism in the shapes and coloring; that spring is here and winter is fading into the background. *MaRoC68 intended this as a birthday gift for a friend, but it truly was a gift of hope for us all.
